The meaning of hope

The meaning of hope

Hope. A word so small with such strength and power. I recently questioned and doubted this little word and began to chalk it up to nothing more than wishful thinking. Did it actually make a difference to hope for the best? What use is it really?

Life got a little disheveled and things weren’t going ‘my way’ or happening on my terms. And that is hard for me. I’ve always been a person who changed every situation that didn’t feel good to me. I’d quit the job, move to a new city, go back for a second chance, switch careers – I had control. So when it comes to the part of not being able to change the situation, when it is out of my control, and I know that I’m supposed to change my attitude about it – that’s the struggle. I stumbled hard. How do I deal? How can I just continue to hope and when seeing no real progress? What’s the point?

7 reasons coming home to rural has got me glowing and growing.

If you know me well, you know that I grew up in a small town, graduated high school, moved to the not-so-big city for college and bounced around from one major Canadian city to the next for 12 years. Long story short, I met the man of my dreams, who actually meant...

5 steps to get your inbox ready for the New Year

5 steps to get your inbox ready for the New Year

How’s your inbox? No, really? How is it? Out of control or completely organized and sorted? Mine tends to get out of control on occasion. And I thought that this might be a really good time for us to go through our inbox and declutter together to get ready for 2017...

The death of my to-do list

The death of my to-do list

I used to love a long to-do list. I loved crossing things off. But looking back, there were no rhymes or reasons to how things got done. The death of my to-do list happened a few years ago. I was working in a fast-paced work environment and everything often felt like...

6 techniques for quality emails and blog posts for your peeps

Writer's block? Afraid to say it? Scared you’re about to say something that some people might disagree with? Oh, the joys of writing. For many of us, we second guess the things that we want to blog about. Like if it’s on the internet, we’ll never be able to get rid of...

Who knew I’d be a farm wife and find myself at an Ag Conference.

Who knew I’d be a farm wife and find myself at an Ag Conference.

I had the luxury of attending a farming conference last week. (Not something I saw myself saying a few years ago.) But this wasn’t your typical conference. This was a conference with heart and soul. Even though I grew up on a farm and watched my mom and dad work hard...

15 ways to shake that shitty feeling

15 ways to shake that shitty feeling

I'd be lying if I didn't say it happens to me. That feeling of de-motivation, laziness, not much purpose, and fraud-ness. You ever feel like that? It's not something that creeps in all that often, but when it does I get frustrated with myself. And then I remember how...
